Do you think you have to move to LA or New York City to pursue a dance career? WRONG! Much like the theatre movement decades ago, dancers are finding vibrant arts communities and places to pursue their dreams in cities across America.  LA and NYC have become expensive, and the competition is fierce.  Some artists are not cut out for that lifestyle.  If it’s not for you, don’t despair.  Start looking at cities that interest you.

Recently the Art Space Galapagos moved from Brooklyn to Detroit.   The arts community in Pittsburgh, with proximity to Point Park dancers, is creating a safe place for experimentation. Others cities to consider? Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia, Seattle.  Northeast Ohio just announced the creation of the 2nd National Center for Choreography.

So if the big cities aren’t for you, no worries, just dance.
